-Master’s degree in library or information science from a program accredited by the American Library Association.
-One to three years library experience in an academic library setting. Knowledge of library and information science principles and practices.
-Ability to develop expertise in a scientific and technical subject area. Serve as a Library Liaison to an academic department, facilitating collection building, library instruction and LibGuide development.
-Experience with providing reference and information services in person and online.
-Demonstrated knowledge and experience with information technology, including research databases, LibGuides, discovery systems, integrated library systems, institutional repository systems, and learning management systems.
-Ability to work in a public service setting effectively, providing an excellent level of information service in a friendly and responsive manner. Ability to successfully engage with Library clientele.
-Knowledge of collection development principles.
-Ability to be flexible and to work both independently and in a team environment where consultation, collaboration and cooperation are essential.
-Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
-Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
