Subject: JDL Collection Services Manager Open Position

After 58 years of service to Jackson District Library (JDL),  our Collection Services Manager is moving on to a new adventure in retirement.  

Under the direction of the Library Director, the Collection Services Manager oversees the operations of JDL’s Collection Services department and provides leadership and supervisory support to its staff. Responsibilities include managing a large department that coordinates selection, acquisition, cataloging, processing, inter-library loan, and delivery for our thirteen branches and bookmobile.

This position sits on the Library’s Leadership Team, representing the Collection Services department, and working in partnership with teammates to collaborate on strategic planning and development of policies and services along with other district-wide initiatives. Oversee and participates in the effective operation of the integrated library system software in cooperation with the Systems Analyst and other relevant staff members.

This position is located in beautiful Jackson, Michigan; however, we serve the entire county with 13 branch locations. Jackson has a large art community and parks and trails galore! Experience family events year-round such as the Civil War Muster and Hot Air Jubilee events at Michigan International Speedway and sledding at Cascades just to name a few. In addition, we have lakes, golf courses, and other recreation as far as the eye can see.

The Collection Services Manager is a full-time on-site salary position located at our Eastern Branch.
