Survey Time!
Ready to Read Michigan
We ask that you help us both improve the program and provide information to the program funders by completing our program survey by April 26th. Your feedback on the number of programs you have and how many children
participate is very important to the continuation of funding for the statewide program. The survey link is:

Sesame Workshop Survey for Youth Librarians
The Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop has just launched a survey for youth librarians as part of its Families
Learning Across Boundaries project. Individuals who work with children ages 3 to 12 in public and school libraries can take the survey through the end of April to help with the project’s goal, which is to create a “more comprehensive picture of how children
are linking their learning experiences across home, school, and beyond, and the roles that adults play in helping children cultivate and bridge their interests.” Knowing the role librarians play in fostering children’s interest-driven learning, the center
hopes to use this survey to gain stronger insights into the ways they encourage children’s interest-driven learning and foster family engagement within their communities.

Summer Reading
STARnet has 2019 summer learning resources at
https://www.starnetlibraries.org/summer-of-space/ and libraries can register to gain access to a number of giveaways such as NASA tactile books, Scholastic books (including the Luciana Vega series), and even some Orion telescopes. Public libraries can
officially register to participate in STAR Net’s Summer of Space
www.starnetlibraries.org/Summer-of-space campaign in collaboration with CSLP’s
A Universe of Stories summer learning program.
The Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP), the STAR Library Network (STAR Net) with its
NASA@ My Library program, and NASA have created a virtual launch pad filled with many STEM resources, activities, and training opportunities that libraries can utilize to help inspire children of all ages to dream big, believe in themselves, and create
their own story. This summer learning program will coincide with NASA’s 60 years of achievement and its celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo Moon Landing. #LibrariesLiftoff #SummerofSpace
