POSITION TITLE: (2) Part-Time, Librarians
REPORTS TO: Library Director
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Master of Library Science from an ALA-accredited university required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
Must be familiar with library automated book catalogs and an expert using library online databases
Must have experience in tutoring or teaching
Must have ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
Must have ability to effectively present information and respond to
questions from groups of managers, customers and the general public
Must have ability to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 25 pounds
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide reference service and learning support to students within the scope of the service program plan
Conduct library instruction sessions as scheduled
Collection development
Take primary responsibility for, or assist with, related projects as assigned
Provide computer assistance and troubleshooting for students
Assume librarian-in-charge responsibilities as assigned, such as supervisory responsibilities during evenings and weekends
Other duties as assigned.
WORK SCHEDULE:
1st position: 15-25 hours per week; 30 weeks per year
2nd position: 15-25 hours per week; 39 weeks per year
Some evening and weekend hours may be required
STARTING DATE: ASAP
COMPENSATION: Hourly rate based on education, experience and existing wage rates for similar positions at Baker College.
