The Dollar General Literacy Foundation invites applications for its Youth Literacy Grants program. Grants of up to $4,000 will be awarded to schools, public libraries,
and nonprofit organizations to support efforts to help students who are reading below grade level or experiencing difficulty reading.
The program supports the implementation or expansion of new or existing literacy programs, the purchase of new technology or equipment to support literacy initiatives, and/or the purchase of books, materials,
or software for literacy programs. The deadline to apply is Thursday, May 19.

Share with young people Floyd Cooper’s bountiful body of work in the voices of beloved and well-known authors. KidLit TV has produced original videos of Crystal Allen, Tameka Fryer Brown, Judy Allen Dodson,
Patti Gauch, Nikki Grimes, Leah Henderson, Cheryl Willis Hudson & Wade Hudson, Sharon Langley, Torrey Maldonado, Olugbemisola Rhuday-Perkovich, Charles Smith, and Don Tate reading from their favorite Floyd Cooper books.
The
videos are now available for preview so you can select which one(s) you want to show in your classroom, library, or store on May 6 or anytime next week.
On May 6, see a special encore presentation of the award-winning "Goodnight with Dolly" online series which will feature Dolly reading Floyd's Max and The Tag-Along Moon.
