Thank you to everyone who has already reached out to schools in their communities about responding to the WSU study survey.

The deadline for WSU Project: Michigan School Census 2026: A Michigan Literacy & School Library Study has been extended to:
October 30, 2026.
  • A map of the responses by school district can be found here.
  • Library staff or literacy staff or teachers or administrators can request their links by completing this form.
  • Respondents receive a $25.00 gift card
There are over 3200 schools in Michigan and only about 30% have responded thus far.  We need more schools to respond!  {In particular, WSU would really like to hear from schools that report zero library staff -- which is approximately 49% of all of Michigan's schools. 85% of the respondents, thus far, are schools with library staff.}
  • You can help get more schools to respond -- by forwarding this email to school library staff, literacy staff, or administrators in the schools in your area -- and encouraging them to participate.
It is VERY important for every school in Michigan to participate in the survey -- we would like to use the results to help advocate for future funding and future policy in our state.

Questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
