Nominees sought for 2018 Coretta Scott King – Virginia Hamilton Author/Illustrator Award for Lifetime Achievement The ALA is accepting nominations for the Coretta Scott King-Virginia Hamilton Author/Illustrator Lifetime Achievement Award. Deadline extended to sign up for the ALA-sponsored tour to Cuba The deadline to register for the 2018 ALA-sponsored tour to Cuba has been extended to Dec. 1, 2017. The seven-day tour, which takes place March 3-10, 2018, includes visits to UNESCO historical sites in Havana, Cienfuegos and Trinidad, along with interactions with Cuban artists, musicians, writers and much more. ACRL sponsors Project Information Literacy student news consumption study The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) is a co-sponsor of a forthcoming Project Information Literacy (PIL) research study investigating how young adults consume news and gather information.
