ALA News for November 14, 2017 NEWS FROM THE AMERICAN LIBRARY ASSOCIATION AASL announces the new National School Library Standards for Learners, School Librarians, and School Libraries Designed to empower leaders to transform teaching and learning, the new “National School Library Standards for Learners, School Librarians, and School Libraries” from the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), published by ALA Editions, reflect an evolution of AASL Standards. ALA President’s Program at 2018 Midwinter Meeting debates neutrality in libraries Are Libraries Neutral? Have They Ever Been? Should They Be? The question of neutrality in librarianship is an old one.
