Hi Trish –
We have a student board member. I attached all our documentation on the process and the application.
We love having the perspective of a teen on our board. Even though they are non-voting, they provide excellent input.
We treat them the same as any other board member and have the same responsibilities, except for voting and their term. They are with us for one year, June through May.
The hardest part of this is the recruitment. Finding the best teachers to go through helps, and utilizing the current teen to help recruit has been very fruitful.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Do any of you have a student board member on your board? If yes, please let me know how they are chosen and what their responsibilities are. Thanks so much -
