POSITION OPENING

YOUTH SERVICES – NEW POSITION

 

Librarian I (part-time)—20 hours per week

May be asked to work at the Main Library and/or Westacres Branch

Includes a share of evening and weekend (Saturday/Sunday) hours

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

MLS or equivalent from an ALA accredited library school; experience working with young children required; relevant public library experience preferred; demonstrated competency with information technology including eMedia, electronic resources, online catalogs, the Internet, social media sites, mobile devices, etc.; ability to deal effectively with the public in a tactful, courteous manner; excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.

           

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reference assistance and reader’s advisory; collection development; marketing of assigned collection areas; conducts programs and outreach activities; provides instruction and support for patron’s use of eMedia resources and devices. This position has an emphasis on conducting programming for young children.

HOURLY RANGE: 

$18.10 - $25.80 per hour
