I was surprised and disappointed that this email that I received this morning from the Governor said nothing about the role libraries, especially school libraries, play in making "every kid a strong reader." The survey that this announcement asks people to take also doesn't include libraries. I'm responding and adding a comment about their importance. I hope many others, especially parents with young children, do the same.
