Introduction to Neurodiversity – May 11 at 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
This workshop introduces the concept of neurodiversity as the natural diversity of human brains and minds and explores the neurodiversity movement as a human rights framework. Participants will examine how neurodiversity shapes sensory,
movement, and communication differences, the impact of ableism on people with brain-based disabilities, and practical ways to support the neurodiversity movement. Instructor: Max Hornick (they/them) is a Community Education Coordinator for Disability Network

This presentation introduces ableism as a systemic form of discrimination that affects people with disabilities in everyday interactions, policies, and practices. Participants will explore common examples of ableism, including language
and assumptions, and how these behaviors impact access and inclusion. Instructor: Miranda Grunwell is a passionate advocate and educator with over 20 years of experience in the disability rights field.
