register! Join MLA next Tuesday, May 8, at Mott Community College in Flint, for Community Collaborations: Homelessness in Libraries. This interactive workshop will explore the library's role in serving the homeless population and provide attendees with
resources and strategies on how to best serve patrons who may be experiencing homelessness.
Sessions include Revisiting Policy 61: Assessing the Needs of and Interacting with Persons Who Are Homeless,
an interactive presentation from Dr. Mark Giesler PhD, LMSW, Saginaw Valley State University, as well as diversity training presented by Paulette Granberry Russell, Senior Adviser to the President for Diversity and Director of the Office for Inclusion and
Intercultural Initiatives, Michigan State University. Plus, hear first-hand experiences on the challenges inherent in serving patrons experiencing poverty and homelessness during our afternoon panel discussion. Visit MLA’s website for
