Youth Service Coordinator II

As a Coordinator II you will report to the Assistant Director and work with a team of Coordinators to manage the Carnegie building and to serve the needs of a diverse community and provide superior customer service to patrons and coworkers. Your focus will be within the youth services department working with children and families. This position is also responsible for system wide programming, training, and communication.

 

To thrive in this role you must be flexible and radiate positivity as you work with the JDL team to promote the service-minded culture and vision of JDL. You should have experience with teambuilding, managing and mentoring staff, and community engagement.

 

Every day you will interact with staff, patrons, and administration in varying ways. This will require professionalism, patience, and a solid understanding of JDL policies and procedures. A successful Coordinator II will have strong technology skills as well as an enthusiasm for serving the community.

In conversations with staff, patrons, and the community the Coordinator II is expected to be JDL’s biggest advocate. We are seeking someone that uses customer service talents to build relationships. Someone that has taken the initiative, and used good time management skills to support their coworkers. Someone with problem solving aptitudes and the ability to take direction and lead with optimism.

Possession of a Master's degree in library science or the equivalent from an ALA accredited institution.
