Hello Friends,

The next Friends of Michigan Libraries (FOML) workshop is called "MI Friends and MI Community: How MI Friends Promote the Library" and it's coming up on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Cascade Township Branch of the Kent District Library!

Speakers and topics include:
  • Rochester Hills Public Library Director Christine Hage presenting "Being Political"
  • Lance Werner, Director of the Kent District Library on "Millage Elections: Options for Friends"
  • "Preparing for Millage Elections: Nuts and Bolts" presented by FOML's Trustee Alliance Representative Shirley Bruursema
  • and Kris Rzepczynski, Archivist at the Archives of Michigan, speaking about "What Can the Archives of Michigan Offer You?"

FOML workshops are a great time to network with other Friends groups, tour the Cascade Township Library, and spend a day learning how to support your library!

You can find the workshop registration form and agenda here or contact Linda Pierce at LPierce1@kettering.edu or (810) 762-9840.

If you'd like to also attend the Trustee Alliance workshop on Friday, September 12th, you will find that registration form here.

Remember, 2014 FOML members receive a discount. And if you want to attend BOTH workshops, you save even more. Check out our website at www.foml.org to become a member.

I hope to see you there!

Paul Snyder, President
