Hello all!

I'm looking for feedback from directors of district libraries that also have contracted service areas.  I'd love to know how the relationship works and how well it's worked out for you.  We have two areas very near us that currently have no library service at all and we've been approached.  
  • How much do you receive from your contracted areas and how does it flow to you?  
  • Do any of you have contracted areas that receive full or reduced services for penal fines only?  
  • Does it come as a lump sum each year or is it when members of that contracted area sign up for a card?
  • It is changed per patron, per household, or by property value?  
This is really a new topic for me, so I'm looking for any input you might have to offer.
