POSITION: Part-time Shelving Supervisor (28 hours per week). Includes evening and weekend hours (Saturday/Sunday).
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent; at least 1 year of public library
Circulation experience; previous supervisory experience preferred;
demonstrated knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System; ability to
promote and maintain effective relationships with other staff and to
work in a team environment; demonstrated ability to use computer
technology, preferably within a Google Workspace, Microsoft Office
and Windows environment.
Candidates selected for interviews will be tested to demonstrate their
knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Interviews and hires shelvers in consultation with the Circulation
Assistant Manager; trains, schedules, supervises and evaluates
shelvers and department volunteers; prepares and delivers regular
performance appraisals for shelvers in consultation with the
Circulation Assistant Manager; responsible for condition and
maintenance of library shelves in conjunction with the Circulation Assistant Manager; performs duties and responsibilities of a
circulation clerk as needed, but will primarily focus on supervision of
shelvers and the condition of the shelves at the Main Library.

SALARY RANGE: $16.97 - $22.81 per hour
