Hello Michigan Libraries & Library Workers,
I am a librarian in Michigan and over the past several years, I collected job postings for fellow job hunters in my MLIS student group, similar to what INALJ or ArchivesGig has.
Maintaining a google doc and searching jobs all over the country was cumbersome and time consuming, but I still wanted to help those in the field find jobs.
In June, I created a Facebook page called Michigan Library & Archives Jobs. On this page, I share varied jobs in public libraries, schools, archives, museums, government agencies, and more that fall into the library/archives/info science field.
Several times a week, I post the newest job listings throughout the state, usually scheduled so a few will post each day.
Each post includes the name of the hiring institution (tagged if possible), the job title, whether the position is part time/full time or contract, a link to the posting, and a closing date (when available). If a hiring post is shared on a library's FB, I will share their post.
All jobs shared have pay information, with actual numerical pay or pay scale.
I just wanted to share this with everyone, if anyone wants to follow the page to see the postings. Or wants to send postings to be shared.
If you have a job posting you would like shared on the page, you can email mi.lib.arch.jobs@gmail.com, DM or tag the Facebook page, or submit to the google form linked on the FB page.
This FB page is not monetized and I am not asking for any money for posting jobs.
*Unfortunately, you do need to be logged into a Facebook account to see the page (though you do not need to follow the page if you are logged into FB). I've investigated other options of sharing, but this works in a way to allow me to post without having to remove old postings and make the project too time consuming to post often.
