     LIBRARY AIDE I

 

For Internal and External Applicants

 

Date: September 17, 2026                                                      Closing Date: October 2, 2026

Reports to: Head of Technical Services                                  Position Available: Immediately

 

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Head of Technical Services, the Library Aide I position is responsible for

checking in library materials, as well as shelving and shelf reading duties.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Requires that a candidate be at least 14 years of age.
2. If under 18, the employee must be able to furnish a work permit. 

 

Schedule:                     Part-time,16- 20 hours per week. Flexible schedule to include days, nights, and weekends.

Union Position:           Westland Library Union SEIU Local 517M (non-Supervisory)

Salary:                         Starting at $15.00 per hour

Benefits:                      For employees working 20 or more hours per week, a prorated vacation leave, personal leave,

and paid holidays. An employer-provided contribution to retirement (401a) after meeting service requirements.
