I thought that I would share the very sad news with the wider library community as many knew Lisa Brakel.

There will be a visitation time on Friday, September 4 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Urbanski Funeral Home, 5055 Secor Road, Toledo, OH.  The funeral will be on Saturday, September 5 starting at 10:30 with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m.  The funeral will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church, 4855 W. Central Avenue, Toledo, OH. 

Lisa is a past-president of the Michigan Association of School Librarians, a former board member of the American Association of School Librarians, a former board member of MCLS, and so much more!

She was a kind, generous, and positive soul with a wonderful sense of humor.  She was a mentor to many in the school library community and was loved by so many that were privileged to know her -- including me.  We will miss her dearly.
