Substitute Librarian

 

Salary: MLIS degree-holder $18 / hour

MLIS student $15 / hour

Hours: Occasional hours as needed, including days, nights, and Saturdays. Potential for regularly scheduled hours.

The Belleville Area District Library is a Class V Library serving a diverse population of 42,000 in Belleville, Van Buren Township, and Sumpter Township. The library’s staff is highly collaborative and endeavors to provide the public with superior customer service.

 

The library is located 10 minutes west of Metro Airport and 15 minutes east of Ypsilanti, with close proximity to I-94 and I-275. We currently occupy an 11,000 square foot building and are in the process of building a new 32,000 square foot building in downtown Belleville and a 1,300 square foot media center in Sumpter Township. Staff is currently engaged in multiple projects for the new building, and there will be many opportunities for substitute librarians to participate.
