About the Training:

Despite OSHA, FBI, Secret Service and DHS Guidelines, some organizations have not established Active Threat Assessment Programs or Comprehensive Workplace Violence Prevention Systems. Not having these components, will cause employers to lose a preventative opportunity to identify, assess, manage and reduce risks, the aggressive individual may pose to company employees, assets or customers. Merely having a Workplace Violence Prevention Policy, which is not “institutionalized,” is not enough.

This program will discuss:

  • OSHA/ MIOSHA Workplace Violence Prevention Guidelines
  • “Best Practices’ of the Secret Service / FBI / Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
  • Litigation Exposures from Workplace Violence Incidents
  • Threat Assessment Team - Roles and Functions
  • How to Collect / Assess / Evaluate “Warning Signs”, “Red Flags”
  • How to Conduct a Threat Investigation
  • Managing:
    • Threats
    • The Person of Concern
    • Employees who have been threatened
  • Threat Assessment Team Relationships with External Resources / Law Enforcement
  • The Components of a Comprehensive Workplace Violence Prevention System
  • Implementing Your Program

Videos of actual cases and perpetrators will be used for detailed illustration and analysis.
