Hi Perri, I do not know for certain how unemployment works but I found this site/information and thought it might be helpful. https://www.michigan.gov/documents/uia_92-EmpChrg1_90416_7.pdf It appears there is a formula that is used to calculate each employer's share of unemployment benefits paid to an employee. That calculation is used to determine how much each employer pays. I hope this helps! Tamara On Mon, Sep 14, 2020 at 1:02 PM Perri Saunders via Michlib-l < michlib-l@mcls.org> wrote:
We have a staff member that was separated from her other job during the shutdown and filed for unemployment. We are now being charged for seven weeks of unemployment when the staff members' wage never changed here at the library. Have any of you run into this? I have protested, contacted, pleaded, reported it as fraud - all to no avail. Any advice will help! Perri
