Hi:

I am the Michigan National Library Legislative Day Coordinator. I am here to work with the Michigan contingent at NLLD to liaison with ALA and generally help things go smoothly and help ensure that everyone gets to meet with their Washington representatives during this event.

I am pleased to announce that registration for the American Library Association’s (ALA) 45th Annual National Library Legislative Day (NLLD) is OPEN!

This event, held in Washington D.C. on May 4-5, 2020, will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn from policy experts, network with other advocates from across the country, learn the latest advocacy techniques, and meet with decision-makers on Capitol Hill to raise awareness about the importance of libraries to communities across the country.

It is a great opportunity to learn more about legislative issues affecting libraries – and  to network with colleagues from all over the US!

NLLD 2020 also holds in store some new features. In response to feedback from previous years’ attendees, the two-day educational event has been refreshed in the following ways:

The registration fee for NLLD 2020 is $175 and includes access to all sessions, training materials, personalized login information to the event app, leave behinds, three meal functions, and a reception. ALA is pleased to offer these enhanced services, which will ensure the highest quality experience to every NLLD attendee.

Starting now, you will be receiving regular updates on how this event will unfold, including legislative scheduling.

I will receive regular updates on who has registered, and will be communicating regularly with the people on that list.

Thank you for your partnership in library advocacy. We look forward to seeing you here in Washington, D.C. this coming May. For more information about the event, stay tuned to: ala.org/nlld

If you have any questions about attending, or would like information to help you convince your Board or supervisors that attendance is valuable, please let me know!
