Hi everyone,

Please see below for information on free webinars in partnership with the non-profit organization GrieveWell that are available for your consideration. We have partnered with them and found their presentation "Grieve Well: Understanding Grief" to be a thoughtful and compelling program during these difficult times.  There will be no cost to you other than the time it takes for you to work with them. They also offer an opportunity to publicize your library and relevant materials in your collection. They have been great to work with and welcome inquiries if you are interested.

GrieveWell Webinars for Michigan Libraries

Your library can bring health and healing to the bereaved in your community by partnering with GrieveWell, a non-profit based in Southeast Michigan, to offer an educational webinar designed by a Licensed Social Worker and experienced practitioner.

GrieveWell presentations offer participants accessible information to build understanding of the grief process, normalize feelings and reactions during grief, learn how to support people in grief, and the opportunity to reflect on their own journey and engage, if they wish, in a moderated chat during the session.

During the past year, GrieveWell has expanded its reach online delivering a dozen webinars in partnership with other organizations including the Ypsilanti District Library, the Bailey Library at Washtenaw Community College and the COVID Grief Network – a national organization.

GrieveWell also offers one to one peer support to residents of Michigan pairing someone fresh in grief with a trained and supported GrieveWell volunteer who is on their own grief journey. We are eager to reach more people with our programs and services across the state of Michigan – especially in areas where other emotional support services may be limited.

GrieveWell seeks library partners to deliver two webinars in the upcoming scholastic year (9/2021 – 5/2022. Here are brief descriptions of the two webinars

Grieve Well: Understanding Grief – ~1.25 hour webinar - The first step is to understand this painful but important part of life. During this presentation, you will learn about grief and the effects it has on one’s physical and emotional health. You will receive information and resources to help you move through your grief journey in a way that leads toward healing. This presentation is for those who are mourning the death of a loved one, those supporting someone who is grieving, or for those who want more information about grief.

Grieve Well During the Holidays – ~1 hour webinar – While the holiday season is filled with family, friends, and festivities, holidays can be a painful time for those who are grieving the loss – recent or past – of a loved one. Participants will learn about grief and helpful tips for managing grief during the holidays. The webinar covers different strategies that can ease stress during the holiday season, including ways to honor your loved one, take care of yourself, and lighten the holiday load.
