City of Menominee, Michigan Job Posting - Library Director Background: The Spies Public Library is the municipal library of Menominee, Michigan - located on the Michigan/Wisconsin border, 50 miles north of Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Spies Public Library serves the City of Menominee and through a contractual agreement, Menominee Township. The service population is 9,645, it is a Class III library. The annual operating budget is $520,000 which consists of an authorized tax levy of up to one mill without voter approval and a recent bequest of 1.9 million dollars. The staff consists of 5.25 full-time equivalent staff. The Spies Public Library was constructed in 1903 and received a 1.6-million-dollar addition in 1997. The library is located in Menominee's Historic District on the waters of Green Bay.
