Our volunteer
Inclusion Committee and presenter, Stephanie Haines from the Indiana Arts Commission, provided a valuable webinar on arts and inclusion this month. Their focus on accessibility through arts-related tools and resources
ensures all members feel welcome and can fully participate. The webinar emphasizes the role of libraries in promoting equity by enhancing program reach, particularly in summer reading programs.
By integrating accessible arts activities, libraries can expand their audience and foster community connections. Practical advice on adapting materials to meet diverse needs is shared, making programs more impactful. The universal language of art is recognized
as a powerful tool for connection and inclusion. Importantly, the principles discussed are applicable year-round, not just for summer programs. This webinar goes beyond programming - it's about fostering belonging, creativity, and shared experiences at the
heart of library services.
The recording and additional materials are available for viewing on our
Inclusion Resources page.
