Friends of Libraries groups have their very own national week of celebration! United for Libraries is coordinating the 14th annual National Friends of Libraries Week Oct. 20-26, 2019. The celebration offers a two-fold opportunity to celebrate Friends. Use the time to creatively promote your group in the community, to raise awareness, and to promote membership. This is also an excellent opportunity for your library and Board of Trustees to recognize the Friends for their help and support of the library. Is your group celebrating National Friends of Libraries Week? Tag United for Libraries in your social media (https://www.facebook.com/unitedforlibraries , https://twitter.com/ala_united ) and share your celebrations, publicity, proclamations, etc., with us by emailing united@ala.org<mailto:united@ala.org> . Explore ideas and resources (including social media posts, sample press releases, celebration ideas, and more) at http://www.ala.org/united/events_conferences/folweek. Two Friends groups will be awarded $250 each in honor of their celebrations during the week as part of the National Friends of Libraries Week Awards.
