The Westland Public Library is pleased announce their 2nd annual
Skill Building Conference for Local Writers (http://westlandlibrary.org/node/6373). This free program is open to all area writers looking to improve their fiction, poetry, and non-fiction skills,
as well as provide a forum to learn about the publishing industry. Below is a list of 1 hour programs being offered during the day:
9:30 a.m. Coffee Hour, provided by Westland's Biggby Coffee. Time to network and/or talk shop with local writers while enjoying a fine cup of coffee. Free to the public.
10:30 a.m. The Joy of Making Metaphor, presented by Jennifer Burd, poet and author of creative non-fiction and children's stories (Meeting Room A).
10:45 a.m. Writing Natural Dialogue, presented by Mike Ball, humorist, author of 3 books and Director of the Lost Voices program (Meeting Room B).
12:00 p.m. Research: The Story Behind the Story, presented by Pamela Gossiaux, freelance writer and author of 2 inspirational books (Meeting Room A).
12:15 p.m. New Trends in Indie Publishing, presented by Tom Saunders, owner/operator of Glendower Media, winner of 2012
National Indie Excellence Award (Meeting Room B).
