Job Summary and Description 

Provides leadership and direction for the Library in support of the academic information needs of students, faculty and staff.  Responsibilities include planning, budgeting, staffing, resource management, data collection, and continuous process improvement to ensure the delivery of high quality library services.  Aligns library services and initiatives with college goals and priorities.  Creates a collaborative, inclusive, student-centered, team-based environment that supports student success.  Collaborates with the campus community regarding library services.  Maintains relationships with college academic and service programs, area libraries, consortia and professional associations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Required:

Master’s in Library Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution.

Demonstrated experience in progressively responsible leadership experience

Demonstrated experience at successfully managing a staff

Experience with budget development and oversight

Experience with strategic planning and continuous improvement 

Experience working with a diverse population

Experience with integrating academic student support services

Experience with Open Education Resource direction and/or licensing and copyright regulations

Preferred:

Three years of progressively responsible leadership experience in an Academic library setting

Knowledge of all aspects of academic library operations and services

Knowledge of current best practices and trends pertaining to community college libraries and higher education

Ability to provide inclusive, collaborative, team-based leadership
