Are they looking at it in a web based online account? I have to go to our online library catalog to look at my reading history. That reading history is NOT found in my library record in Sierra. So I would say no it is NOT part of their library record. Carol DeBoer Circulation Supervisor Henika District Library 149 S. Is the browsing history of a patron on a public computer considered part of their library record? It seems to me, the way the law is worded, that it IS. And if a minor patron is observed (by a staff member) engaging in risky (and library rule-breaking) online behavior, can parents be contacted? This minor patron does NOT have a signed Release of Minor Childs Library Record on file. All of our computers are filtered, so we do not require a signed release form for minor patrons to use the computers. Thanks in advance for clarification.
