
Albion College invites applications for the *Outreach, Engagement and Instruction Librarian* position. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a campus climate that supports equity, diversity, and belonging. The Outreach, Engagement and Instruction Librarian will work closely with librarians, faculty, and campus partners to lead and develop library initiatives that support student success, equity, recruitment, and retention. They will design and implement effective and innovative library programming to engage the campus community in a collaborative and equitable fashion. The Outreach, Engagement and Instruction Librarian provides a variety of library instruction services to support the College’s liberal arts curriculum and promote information/digital literacy. Library instruction services include general library orientation and information/digital literacy sessions, course-specific and assignment-specific library instruction, and course-embedded library instruction. Working in conjunction with the Director of the Library, and with the library staff, teaching faculty, and administration, this program of instruction should reach all segments of the campus community. This position is responsible for building relationships with both academic and non-academic units across campus in order to raise awareness about the various ways that the library can serve as an essential partner in facilitating the success of our diverse body of undergraduate students. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. Albion College is an anti-racist institution.
