Videos sought for National Library Legislative Day PLA is inviting public library staff to be a part of our grassroots advocacy efforts by participating in our first-ever National Library Legislative Day Video Contest<http://ala.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT02NDAyMDY5JnA9MSZ1PTEwMDc0MTc2ODImbGk9NDIwNzg4NzM/index.html>! National Library Legislative Day<http://ala.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT02NDAyMDY5JnA9MSZ1PTEwMDc0MTc2ODImbGk9NDIwNzg4NzU/index.html> is a two-day advocacy event that brings hundreds of librarians, trustees, library supporters, and patrons to Washington, D.C. to meet with their members of Congress and rally support for library issues and policies. To join in this important event, simply create a 60-second video featuring clips of your patrons talking about why the library matters to them. The best entry, as determined by the PLA Legislative and Advocacy Committee, will receive a $100 gift card to offset the cost of two member registrations for the National Library Legislative Days. ALA Washington Office staff will also share the video with the winning library's U.S. Representative and make an announcement to its local media outlets. The deadline to submit a video is 11:59 p.m. Central Time on Saturday, April 15.
