The Public Library of Westland is proud to host its 3rd annual Skill Building Conference for Local Writers (SBCLW) on Saturday, May 9th from 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. This free program is open to all area writers looking to improve their fiction, poetry, and non-fiction skills, as well as provide a forum to learn about the publishing industry. Presenters for this conference include: 

• Mike Ball, Erma Bombeck Award-winning author; 

• Jennifer Burd, poet and author of creative non-fiction and children’s stories;

• Pamela Gossiaux, freelance journalist and author of 2 inspirational books; and,

• Thomas Saunders, owner/operator of Glendower Media, winner of the 2012 Indie Excellence Award.
