This position will give the selected candidate the opportunity to:
CREATE— Liaison Librarians identify and implement new and emerging trends, best practices, and models in instruction and research support as well as scholarly engagement. They develop projects that align with their areas of focus and anticipate the future needs of the Libraries.
COLLABORATE— Liaison Librarians work collaboratively to ensure that our instructional and research services are meeting the needs of our users. They have opportunities to work with faculty, staff, and students across the University. We invite applicants who have a user-focused, innovative, and creative approach to their work.
GROW— GVSU Librarians are members of the university faculty with a 12-month appointment. Librarians engage in scholarship, professional development, and service to the organization and the profession. There are opportunities to work across the Libraries and the University to gain experience and knowledge about areas of our profession, with an emphasis on collaboration. Librarians at GVSU engage in faculty governance and participatory-style management practices. In addition, the successful applicant will gain a greater understanding of how to flourish in an academic setting.
GVSU and the GVSU Libraries have a culture that encourages professional growth and development. Funding and support for conference travel and the dissemination of scholarly output is provided by both the Libraries and the University via internal grants and mentoring. Salary range: $49,000-$52,000
