Introducing our new Beginning Workshop!
What is
Beginning Workshop?
This content is designed to support library staff without a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science by providing exposure to a variety of topics and offer practical skills for working in a Michigan public library. Anyone new
to the profession or just hired at a library, no matter what their academic credentials, is welcome to take part in the course.
For those seeking an initial
Level 3 or Level 4 library staff certification from the Library of Michigan, completion of the Beginning Workshop course is obligatory.
What is new?
New training animations, updated content, all in one tutorial!
What does this mean for the old Beginning Workshop? Will my progress/completion be deleted?
No progress/completion on the old version will be deleted.
However, the old Beginning Workshop will
no longer be available starting Oct 13th.
If you are unable to finish the old workshop by that time, please email us at
lm-libtraining@michigan.gov.
This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library of Michigan.
