[Michlib-l] Fine Forgiveness

We are thinking of holding a fine forgiveness week.  The Library Board asked that I poll other libraries that have done this for advice on pros and cons.  What problems did you encounter? How long did you hold the event? Did patrons hold off paying new fines after the date waiting for another forgiveness date?  Did you just clear all fines in the system, or have patrons physically come in to request forgiveness?
