The submission deadline to nominate an individual or an organization for an Upper Peninsula History Award is quickly approaching – we need your nominations by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29.

For individuals, please consider nominating that person for the Charles Follo Award.  The Follo Award is given to an individual who has made the most outstanding contribution to the preservation and promotion of Upper Peninsula history.

For historical organizations, please consider nominating them for the Superior Award.  The Superior Award recognizes historical societies, museums, and other historical organizations that have preserved and advanced Upper Peninsula history.

The awards will be presented during our annual U.P. History Conference, which will be held in Munising this year, on June 24-26.

Time is short.  Please mail 10 copies of your completed nomination form and supporting materials to 5815 Executive Drive, Lansing, MI 48911 OR e-mail your completed form and supporting materials to hsm@hsmichigan.org by 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 29 with the subject line “U.P. Award Nomination” to get your nomination in before the deadline (if you submit your nomination via email, you must still also mail 10 hard copies to the Historical Society of Michigan at the address indicated above).
