Librarian - Permanent Full Time
Job Description
Responsible for the establishment, operation, and maintenance of the general prison library, prison law library, and satellite collections. Responsible for the operation and supervision of the Legal Writer program and the Electronic Law
Library program. Independent judgment must be exercised in adapting and applying methods and procedures to specific situations. A knowledge of supervising techniques and personnel policies and procedures is required.
Required Education and Experience
Education:
Possession of a master's degree in library science.
EXPERIENCE:
Librarian 9
No specific type or amount is required.
Librarian 10
One year of professional experience providing librarian services equivalent to a Librarian 9.
Librarian P11
Two years of professional experience providing librarian services equivalent to a Librarian, including one year equivalent to a Librarian 10.
Librarian 12
Three years of professional experience providing librarian services equivalent
to a Librarian, including one year equivalent to a Librarian P11.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to set priorities and assign work to other professionals. Ability to effectively communicate with prisoners and staff alike in obtaining compliance. Ability to organize and coordinate the work of others
