This is what we do as well. No extra bags or boxes.

Hi Melissa,

We circulate the boxes with tape to reinforce the corners, and these H Bands to hold them shut:

Subject: [Michlib-l] Circulating board game storage?

Hi All,
I am wanting a small collection of games that can be used in house or checked out. What kind of storage are you all using for circulating board games? I have some zippered totes but they are a bit much for some of the smaller games. Let me know what you are using, and pictures would be great if you have any!

Thanks,
