Subject: Mid Michigan Digital Practitioners Meeting - September 18 @CMU
Greetings!
This email is being sent to those who attended either the August 2013 or March 2014 Mid Michigan Digital Practitioners meeting. Please forward to any others that may be interested.
The next Mid Michigan Digital Practitioners (MMDP) meeting is scheduled for September 18, 2014 at Central Michigan University from 9-4. A networking and coffee period will be from 830-9 and tour of the Clarke Historical Library from 4-5. We received a lot of good ideas from our March post-meeting survey and hope to implement them at the September meeting.
Presentations will include a Visualization tool, ResourceSpace, Digitization workflow, Digital Newspaper Project, Modeling Relationships in Fedora, and much more. We have filled most of the lightning round talk spots but are looking to fill out our Birds of a Feather section. Birds of a Feather discussion provides the opportunity to discuss topics of interest with others. Current categories are:
· Web Archiving
· Media Preservation
· Digital Assets
· Digital Humanities
· Rights Management
Do you have a suggestion for another topic? Would you like to volunteer to be a topic moderator?
At the end of the day, we will have time and space to have multiple tool demos going. We are looking for people who might want to demo Omeka, Preservica, or CollectiveAccess. These are informal demos sitting at a table.
And one last thing; we are also adding a time and space for poster sessions. If interested, let me know.
Registration will begin in Mid July at http://tinyurl.com/mcoqqka .
Thanks!
