The Director is responsible for the administration of the library under direction and review of the Board of Trustees. The Dowagiac District Library serves nearly 13,000 residents of Dowagiac and the surrounding area. The library's perpetual millage provides approximately 80% of the library's operating revenue on an annual basis - making the Dowagiac Library one of the most financially-secure rural libraries in the state of Michigan.
