A Rally of Writers announces William Langford as keynoter for the 32nd annual writers’ conference to be held on April 6, 2019. “Will the Poet” is an award-winning performance artist, a Fulbright scholar, and a doctoral candidate at MSU, who will open the conference with “And Each One A Griot.” Also featured are 13 breakout sessions full of memoir and mystery, magic and self-editing, writing your life in essay and poetry, finding truth for YA angst and children and long-ago stories. Presenters, published Michigan writers or professionals, include Will Langford, Mardi Link, Lev Raphael, Dennis Hinrichsen, Landis Lain, Jan Shoemaker, Ruth McNally Barshaw, Dedria Humphries Barker, John Smolens, and Sarah Zettel. An editors’ panel with Louise Ahern, Nancy Feldbush, and Ken Zahrt will end the day.

 

Book sales. Book signings. Pretty good cookies.

Cost: $90 ($50 students) in advance. ($105/$60, at the door) Lunch $15.
