Hey Folks,

On Monday of this week we had Larry Martin out to our library for a very well-received program about World War II veterans.

Mr. Martin shared an interview with Michigan WWII veteran Fred Bahlau, a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division who fought at Normandy on D-Day, Operation Market Garden in Holland, and the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium.

He also had anecdotes and more stories about Mr. Bahlau that he shared after the taped interview.

In addition, Mr. Martin brought a plethora of WWII memorabilia to share, including: letters, photographs, and gear used by WWII soldiers--which filled 8 of our tables in our Community Room!

With more veterans dying off every day, this was a great program to share with current and future generations the experiences of those who served their country to ensure our freedom.

Yours truly,
