
Hi all, I wanted to share information about a program we are hosting next month. An Evening with Jean Alicia Elster Thursday, April 16, 2015 @ 6:00 PM Roseville Public Library Please join us for an evening with author Jean Alicia Elster. She is the author of the novel _The Colored Car__ _which was selected as a 2014 Michigan Notable Book by the Library of Michigan. _The Colored Car__ _also won the 2014 Midwest Book Award in Children's Fiction and was an Honor Book for the 2014 Patterson Prize for Books for Young People. Reading portions of her book in conjunction with the use of several visual aids, author Jean Alicia Elster describes the process of researching and writing The Colored Car, a book that explores the struggles and personal growth of a twelve-year-old African American girl after a train trip south to Clarksville, Tennessee in 1937. After speaking Jean Alicia Elster will be available to sell and sign copies of her book. The special event price is $12.95 per book, payable by cash or check.
