Kids Count
Kids Count in Michigan is part of a broad national effort to measure the well-being of children
at the state and local levels, and use that information to shape efforts to improve the lives of children. The
Data Book
reviews the most recently available and trend data to evaluate the well-being of children while identifying
policies that, if implemented, could improve life and outcomes for families. But most importantly, the book provides policy solutions — backed by evidence — that can meaningfully improve the lives of Michigan’s youngest residents. Be sure to check out the

CSLP's Virtual Summer Symposium for Unearth A Story™ is coming... and there are multiple ways to watch!
Registration for attending the virtual symposium live from your own desk at your library
opens in October on
the CSLP website. You will also be able to sign-up to receive a recording of the sessions to view in your own time, at your own pace, if you cannot attend live.

The dinosaurs are coming in 2026! Join us as we gather to view the Collaborative Summer Library Program's annual virtual Summer Symposium all about Unearth a Story™. We will start the day with a conversation around summer library programming best practices,
before tuning into the opening Keynote Speaker (announcement coming soon). Between sessions we will "unearth" ideas on programming, so feel free to bring craft supplies, materials, or stories to share. This event will be limited to 50 participants.
*Limited snacks will be provided, lunch will be not be served. Please plan to
pack your own lunch and beverages for the day. We do have water bottle refill stations on site.

We are excited to announce that this listserv will soon be updated! On 10/04/25, MCLS will be updating the software that
runs our listservs. With that update, there will be a few changes to how the list works:
