The Technology Readiness Infrastructure Grant (TRIG) is pleased to announce a statewide internet content filtering purchasing opportunity for Michigan schools and public libraries. This opportunity is being made available as part of the Data Services Collaborative Activity of TRIG and is being led by the Greater Michigan Educational Consortium (GMEC) in partnership with REMCAM.

As the result of their responses to an Invitation to Bid, two vendors, iboss and Lightspeed, have been awarded statewide contracts for Michigan. Any public library in Michigan can choose to purchase internet content filtering products and services from either vendor at the special library pricing. Details on the pricing and contract overview for both awarded vendors can be found on the TRIG website at http://22itrig.org/activities/data-service-collaborative/statewide-internet-content-filtering/vendor-comparison-/. (Note: the $.50/FTE price on the web page is for school districts. Special library pricing is on the pricing sheets available on the web page.)

Details on the purchasing process will be made available soon.  Additional details on this opportunity can be found at http://22itrig.org/activities/data-service-collaborative/statewide-internet-content-filtering/

Please feel free to contact Project Manager Karen Hairston at karen@remc.org with any questions.
