JOB SUMMARY

This position has the responsibility for the overall planning, supervising, organizing, and implementing branch services for all the Genesee District Library (GDL) branches in accordance with Library policies and procedures. This includes directing operations to meet patron and staff needs. Works cooperatively with other management team members to fulfill the Library’s mission.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·       Routinely seeks out and identifies sources for grant funding opportunities. Prepares well-written and documented grant proposals.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

 

WILL BE REQUIRED TO

·       Work a flexible schedule as needed.

·       Be on call for emergencies weekends and evenings.

·       Serve as weekend administrator on a rotating basis.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The location of the work site is primarily the GDL Headquarters location.  The position requires extensive travel within Genesee County, primarily to GDL branch locations. Noise level in the work environment is usually low and work is typically performed indoors.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT

Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and vehicle for use on company business.
