You might consider a couple of the Lesson Minis found in Teach Britannica. There is a link to all the Teach Britannica Resources at the top of any Britannica School landing page in MeL.org:

Click the blue, Teach Britannica logo at the top, right of the page. That will take you to a menu of options that includes Lesson Minis, Instructional Strategies, and interactive Graphic Organizers. Everything can be downloaded for easy retrieval. Among the Lesson Minis are 3 activities for Gathering Information and Evaluating Resources for Grades 3-5. (See images below)

Subject: [Michlib-l] Elementary School Information Literacy Ideas

Hi All,

I have an upcoming visit scheduled to teach some information literacy skills to third through fifth grade at the local elementary school. I used to just do a kind of Powerpoint presentation and show them some things, and do exaggerated silly misinformation and have them point it out. It got some laughs but I am wondering if anyone has some other things they do for this age group? I am a bit tired of the same old thing. Any ideas are appreciated!
