Hyundai-Kia Donates Car to Ypsilanti District Library
The Ypsilanti District Library’s books, movies, and music will be riding in style, thanks to the donation of a three-year lease of a new Kia Soul. The vehicle was donated by
Hyundai-Kia America Technical Center located in Superior Township and the Ann Arbor Automotive dealership in Scio Township. The donated vehicle replaces an aging van
owned by the library. Mark Torigian of the Hyundai-Kia Technical Center and Dave Overlander of Ann Arbor Automotive visited the Ypsilanti District Library on December 6 to
personally turn over the car keys. They also surprised library staff with an announcement of the donation of an additional $1,000 to cover gas and other associated expenses.
In addition to delivering books, movies, and other library materials to YDL’s three branches, the new car will also be used to make regular deliveries of large-print book collections
to local senior residences and personal visits to homebound residents.
"This very generous donation helps make the entire collection and all services of the Ypsilanti District Library available and convenient for all Ypsilanti area residents, regardless
of age or ability,” stated YDL Director Jill Morey.
